This is a good old fashioned breakfast - PLENTY of good like you'd expect when you go out for breakfast in Alaska. My uncle introduced me to this place, so it's where the locals go for good food and good service. Plenty to look at while you wait for your order.
Pictures are interesting - food not so much

This restaurant has many fun museum pieces for you viewing pleasure. The overall decor is substandard and ambiance deficient. Breakfasts are generally served in large portions with lost of potatoes. Lunch and dinner is standard sandwich or meat and potatoes. If you are looking for interesting historical pictures, this is the place to go. If you are looking for fine food, you would be best served at other establishments.
Nice atmosphere, Breakfast...Not so nice

Gwennies has some really neat Alaska artifacts and displays, lots of vintage photographs and Anchorage history. However the food really isn't that good. Gwennies doesn't use real cheese for their omelettes, they use Velveeta or some other kind of "cheese" sauce. They are also a bit on the expensive side, I might recommend Gwennies for visiting friends or relatives for lunch maybe but I'll stay away from breakfast.
- Pros: Neat collection of Alaska artifacts
- Cons: Breakfast leaves much to be desired
Great place to eat

This is a great place to eat. Breakfast is wonderful, lunch is delicious, and the all you can eat ribs is awesome.
I won't go here again...

Rude hostess, rude waittress, angry bus boy and icky french toast. Everything was just wrong with this place. When we arrived, we were told we would have a 30 minute wait, so we put our name on the list and left to take care of an errand. We came back about 20 minutes later to find that they called our name, no biggie. Well... I was wrong! The hostess copped a slight attitude and told us to not to leave the area again. When we sat down, the waitress was all over the place, crashing coffee pots on the table. When my food arrived, the french toast was all stuck together, the fork and glass was dirty. To top off the morning, the bus boy was all peeved off. Throwing his cleaning towel and slamming dishes, muttering profanities under his breath.
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: everything

Good place to take the tourist who wants to see some Anchorage History, but if you live here, there are better places to have a meal. The people and articles they have collected are really great, menu and prices could use some work.
- Pros: Great for tourist, Nifty History Display, Knowledgeable Staff
- Cons: Menu needs work
