Not the Place to Buy.
I am well aware Pawn Shops are not the ideal place to make a purchase.
Cash America on Gambell St. Anchorage Alaska epitomizes the old adage "You WILL NEVER GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING!
Not even nearly for nothing.
I went to cash America to purchase a gift for my niece who lives in California.
When I asked what she wanted and described what they had she asked for a Nintendo DS. So I purchased one with all the accessories, and promptly mailed it to her. On arrival she found the charging cord was not for the DS. So she went and purchased the correct cord. Only to discover the DS didn't work at all.
So she mailed it back to me.
When trying to return the DS to Cash America on Gambell St. We were told (by the very person who sold it to me) there is nothing we can do! The serial number is missing.
The serial number was never on the thing.
I checked and my brother checked when attempting to search technical help on the Internet.
Serial number on or off, simply put the DS didn't work. They wouldn't even take back the incorrect cord and accessories they sold me. I am well aware the serial number is only of value to the Manufacturer, an authorized retailer or a thief.
Seeing as I purchased from Cash America Gambell St. there was no reason for me to remove the serial number.
Why would Cash America care unless they were buying it from me or I was attempting to pawn the device.
Cash America in my opinion was WRONG!!!!
This is more than just POOR Customer Service this is Dishonest!
