Best Bagels on West Coast. We are originally from New York and now reside in Los Angeles, CA. On a recent trip to Anchorage we stopped in and have the best bagels we can remember having in many years. The fresh lox sandwich was to die for. We ended up taking three dozen bagels back to LA with us. Customer service was excellent and if they were in LA we would have a definate new hang out.

Marty's Bagel Deli is perfect for lunch!. I have taken kids that I babysit there ever since it opened and they absolutely love it! The prices are reasonable and they food is always fresh

Bring your own butter and don't bother with the cold cuts (or deli meat, as some folks say). They do a pretty good job with the bagels. In fact, they probably are the closest thing to a NY bagel that you can find here in Anchorage. However, they don't have real butter - only margarine. What?! How can you call yourself a New York Bagel Deli if you don't have real butter? I'm sorry, but New Yorkers DON'T put margarine on their bagels. Also, don't even bother trying the cold cuts. No self-respecting New Yorker would ever eat the processed stuff (especially the roast beef - blech!) this place puts on their sandwiches. Definitely not worthy of being called a deli. In short, it's worth going there if you're going to pick up your bagels and bring them home with you, but if you want to eat there, bring your own butter and skip the cold cuts altogether.
