Very Good. I took a star off for the in-dining experience. The place is cramped and dank. The food is quite good - not the best Thai I've ever had but the best I've had in Anchorage - and right on par with some of my favorite Thai places in Texas and New York. The soups I've tried are 5 stars all the way. I don't care for some of the noodle dishes with the spicy stuff on the side - I much prefer the chili cooked in - but better to be safe than sorry I guess with the fickle eaters we are here. All in all I have nothing bad to say about this place. A must try if you like Thai food.

MMMMMM! tasty. the food is great! i get the same thing most of the time i go there Garlic Chicken, Peanut sauce and Spring rolls. once you go there often and are friendly the waiters get to know you and always are helpful. its small but so what their food is the best thai in town and just go around 7 or 8 pm and its not that busy

Pros: great food, good service and they are very accurate at giving you pick-up times

Cons: only one chef and two waiters so can take up to 30 mins to get your food.

Food is Good but Terrible Customer Service. We found out once we got home that they messed up our take-out order and instead of an apology and offer to make it up to us we got a bunch of attitude and were told we had to come back in... AND BRING THE FOOD BACK!! Were they going give it to someone else??? SCARY!!!! Unfortunately this isn't the first time we've had terrible service so even though we like their fresh rolls, we won't be returning.

Absolutely fabulous Thai Food. Small intimate setting that can get crowded at times. Absolutely love the food. The rice noodles in the Curry Noodle are heavenly and the fresh rolls are delicious. Only one thing, when you call in an order, make sure you don't show up until the time they tell you to show up. I stood around one time and they seem to have gotten cranky with me (eg Soup Nazi) for getting in their way. They have always made sure to remind me since then to not show up until the time they tell me (how exactly is it they remember my name).

Mum's the WORD!!. I have been coming to Thai Orchid for the past 3 years and I have not had a bad meal there. I get take out since their small restaurant is always busy and who can blame them since the food is beyond fantastic, it's just like the way my mum would have made it herself but since she is in England, I had to settled for second best but BEST indeed for Anchorage.

For any one who has no patience, I would recommend you to get it to go but if you are going to stick around then you need to be willing to wait for the great food since you can not expect the 1 cook to feed you all at one time, this is not the typical Oriental Buffet place, they cook per order so you can be sure that your food will be serve HOT every time.

You also may feel that the service is inadequate but what do you expect when you all show up at one time and it's not like they can staff 1 server per table, have you been in there, I'm not kidding when I say that the place is small and don't bother to ask for them to expand since you can't CLONE the cook!

Best Thai in Anchorage!. I love Thai Orchid! The place is small but like the other reviews said, it is so worth the wait. They are closed at various times of the year for a couple weeks at a time which is rough because you CRAVE their food. Try it! I am sure you will love it as much as my husband and I do. Good portions and prices. I suggest bringing a few friends and sharing so you can try many things.

Best Thai Food. After traveling to thailand last fall my boyfriend and I fell in love with Thai cooking. Thai Orchid is all the way across town, has only a few tables, and yes you often do have to wait.... however, it is well worth it, and personally I don't know many places I would like to eat that have tons of tables and never a wait!

we love the Thai Orchid Noodle Special and the Tom Kai Goog soup! Try it you won't be dissapointed. I am waiting for my pick-up order tonight and can't wait to get it home!!!!!!!

Yum!. Really great food. Not a very spicy thai restaurant (and be warned, the spicy dishes are inconsistently spicy), but the food is DELICIOUS. The restaurant is small, but it is clean and comfortable. The service is pretty lacking, but the food makes up for it.

Great Thai Food. I visited Anchorage and visited this place with my wife and mother-in-law. As mentioned, it is small and the ambiance is lacking - but for me, it's all about the food. The food is great! Good portion sizes, reasonable prices. You won't be disappointed.

Small Thai restaurant in Anchorage. The restaurant is very small, something like 9 tables, hence long waiting time. I was at the restaurant on Friday evening, the wait was not too bad.. around half and hour or so. The food and the service was okay. I ordered Mee Krob (fried bean thread) and crab cakes for appetizers. Mee Krob was good but crab cakes were not. For the entree, I ordered a chicken green curry and Pad Kee Mao. They were both just okay. I may go back .. if I am really in need of Thai food. By the way, the restaurant was operated by Thai-Laoatian.
