Hair FRIED. I would rather be staked out naked on an ant hill than return to the "Beauty Room". The staff is rude and NOT trained in the procedures they are trying to perform. They completely fried my hair 6 months before my wedding. My bangs were about 1/4 of an inch long in some places. The owner who was supposed to be doing my service had a pop in visitor so she had the receptionist take over! WTH!?! Save yourself the heartache and avoid this place at all costs. They would not even return my money (over $200) for the botched job.
Customer Service is horrible. The man at the front desk is very rude. He thinks he is SO cool. The workers there are unfriendly and in their own little world. They don't even talk to their customers, just to each other. They act like they are interrupting them when you walk in. I've gone there twice and have had bad experiences both times. I am never going back again. I gave them another chance, but regret it now. I hope this place closes so people can stop wasting their money.
Messed up my wedding day. I chose beauty room because they seemed to have the most simple pricing for updos and treatments so I figured that would be far easier to bring a large party to than my regular salon which is really small. Unfortunately it was an illusion as no one could understand what the price differences were so felt that they were arbitrarily assigned. They accused us of being late even though we had confirmed the time with their front desk staff the day before. The one of the three stylists accepted a walk in right before we were due to be there which delayed her by about half an hour. All told we had four appointments, and they didn't finish with our simple updos until about an hour after they had estimated when I made the appointments. I had scheduled some leeway, but then one of the bridesmaids updo completely fell out so that delayed us about half an hour as my two friends fixed her hair and made it far prettier than the so-called professional. All of that would have been fine, but the horrible customer service had me fuming. I was anything but a bridezilla but that is the only time in my life I didn't tip a stylist. Instead of us having fun getting ready we were stressed and disappointed. I won't be going back, neither will the members of the wedding party. It is too bad as it is a cute place and my hair turned out beautifully.
Not so Beauty. I have bounced around from salon to salon in Anchorage. The service and unprofessional nature of the staff was disappointing. The stylist spoke for me for about 5 minutes to begin with and then ignored me while I sat in her chair. She interrupted her colleague to be a part of her conversation numerous times. Who are you talking about? Who is that? I didn't feel very important. Her manner was rough as she pulled the foils out of my hair and her shampoo style was not relaxing. I had a friend recommend The Beauty Room to me and I won't be passing that on to anyone else. Overall my hair isn't bad but I don't feel that she really listened to what I wanted or valued me as a customer.
Customer Service Stinks. I used the Beauty Room several times. The first few times the guy at the front desk just looked at me like I was a freak when I walked in. I thought it would get better when I was a regular, he would get to know me and know that I was not a freak. After becoming a regular, his attitude still was offensive and unfriendly. The girl who did my waxes never learned my name, after 4-5 visits. The last straw was when I made an early morning appointment and no one was there to open the shop. Another customer and myself just stood there, for more than half an hour. When the girl came to open the shop, she had coffee in her hand, and made no apologies.
NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER..
I JUST MOVED TO ANCHORAGE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO, AND HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR A SALON THAT SPECIALIZED IN HAIR STRAIGHTENING. I CAME ACROSS THE BEAUTY ROOM OVER THE INTERNET AND THERE SITE WAS VERY CONVICING-- SO I SAID, HEY WHY NOT GIVE IT A TRY ?!
I CAME IN FOR MY FREE COUNSELTATION AS SCHEDULED , AND THEY COULDNT EVEN FIND MY NAME IN THE APPOINTMENT BOOK. THE PLACE LOOKED VERY PROFESSIONAL AS EXPECTED. HOWEVER, THE EMPLOYEES WORKING WERE NOT. I WAS APPROACHED BY A LADY WHO I DIDNT KNOW WAS A RECEPTIONIST OR A CUSTOMER, BECAUSE SHE HAD COLORING STRIPS IN HER HAIR, CONVERSATING IN THE WAITING AREA. I STOOD THERE CONFUSED AND EMBARASSED FOR 10 MINUTES. NO ONE OFFERED ME A SEAT TO SIT DOWN IN AND WHEN I FINALLY WAS COUNSELED FOR MY THERMAL RECONDITION, I WAS TOLD I WASNT A GOOD CANIDATE [ UNDERSTANDABLE], BUT WASNT OFFERED ANY OTHER OPTIONS.
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS POOR. IT WAS HORRIBLE. I TOOK ALOT OF TIME OUT OF MY DAY AND WAITED 30 MINUTES FOR A ' OH I CANT DO THIS '. IVE BEEN TO MANY SALONS. AND HAVE TO SAY THIS IS THE WORST, AND DEFINETLY DONT RECOMMEND IT.
