Been here forever, fairly recent change in ownership doesn't seem to have caused much trouble. Open 24/7/365.

Good old American food, much of it quite good - for instance the chicken fried steak. Daily specials worth considering - but if you get there late they may be out.

The place is "well-used" (somewhat rundown) and half the restaurant is uninhabitable except for the hardiest Alaskans for 6 months out of the year, due to a heating problem which doesn't seem to be getting fixed anytime soon.

This is one of the most known Anchorage places for out-of-town Alaskan visitors, so if you want a multi-cultural slice, Leroy's is an experience.

And oh yes - very very affordable.

• Pros: decent food, great prices, diverse clientele
• Cons: heating in winter, sort of seedy

24 hour establishment that has been open in town forever. Best chicken fried steak ever, for a surprise try the 20 ounce sirlion, gives "Steakhouses" new to the area a run for their money!!!
