Out of the ordinary Japanese restaurant. I stumbled upon this place on my last day in Anchorage. And after getting back home I could not stop thinking about how good the fish was and sad that I only went once!

The place is small and reminds me of some of the neighborhood restaurants I went to when I visited Japan. The owners are Japanese and friendly. There was no menu but on the walls were different items that you can order. They didn't serve traditional sushi so I ordered the chirashi (raw fish on rice). The fish was extremely fresh and tasty. They gave an assortment of items including salmon, mackerel, sweet raw shrimp, and scallops for $18. The dinner included a choice of desert (I got the kanten which was excellent). The serving woman said they make their gyoza themselves and so I wished I had ordered that too. Also, they made tempura, yakisoba and various fish dished which all sounded good. Unfortunately I was leaving that day so I could not try them!
